I became investigative-curious around the age of seven.
When my brother got in trouble, I'd sit outside his door and report the news to anyone who'd listen.
Not for the drama — I was fascinated.
How did we get here?
Who said what?
What detail doesn't fit?
I wasn't looking for gossip.
I was looking for the story.
That never left.
I still notice what everyone else rushes past
the sideways glance
the kitchen dance party
the teenager pretending not to smile
the hand your kid still reaches for without thinking.
The story's already happening.
I just notice, early — what you'll want back later.
Here's where that comes from.
I've lost a lot. I don't have anyone left to bear witness to my own story, no one to say this is who we were.
I know what that costs.
I won't let it happen to you.
Or your kids.
Or the ones after them.
I learned to read a room the hard way, too — years of watching for the other shoe to drop taught me to feel the tension and bring it down before anyone noticed.
I wouldn't wish how I learned it on anyone.
But I rebuilt it into this: I can walk into your chaos and make it feel safe enough that you forget I'm working.
So, have I made you curious enough to trust me with one scene of your life?
Hi. I'm Marcia.
Thanks for considering supporting me and my small family.
